Škoda Octavia
Discover the new ŠKODA Octavia
The new ŠKODA Octavia sets new standards in the compact segment. With class leading boot space, innovative safety and comfort systems, and a wide range of ‘Simply Clever‘ solutions, the third-generation Octavia sets new benchmarks.
The ŠKODA Octavia has always strived to offer that little bit extra. The new version builds on this, by adding more space, equipment, technology and, of course, value for money.
The new ŠKODA Octavia is the second model to embody the brand’s bold new design language and the third to wear the new logo.
The new Octavia is 90mm longer and 45mm wider than the current Octavia, and the car’s wheelbase has grown by 108mm, improving rear legroom. Despite the larger size, the new car will be up to 102kg lighter than the current-generation model.
ŠKODA design chief Jozef Kaban and his team have given the car a more dynamic side profile, a shortened front overhang and have moved the C pillar back to give the car a more sporty look. The high ‘tornado’ line along the side of the car highlights the car’s coupe-like silhouette, and the rear doors feature an upswept ‘fin’ design.
Safer than ever
The new Octavia will feature a whole new range of features to improve safety for occupants and pedestrians:

Multi-collision braking, which actuates the brakes automatically in an accident

Fatigue detection

Active front bonnet for pedestrian protection

Up to nine airbags, including knee and rear side airbags
New technology
The new Octavia will bring lots of new driving technology to the ŠKODA brand, including:

Adaptive cruise control, which automatically keeps a pre-set distance from the car in front

Intelligent light assistant, which can switch the main beam on and off depending on on-coming traffic

Automatic parking assistant, which can automatically parallel- and reverse-park the car
-
Automatic traffic-sign recognition
-
Driving mode selection, which lets drivers adjust certain characteristics at the push of a button

Panoramic sliding and tilting sunroof

Keyless entry start and exit system (KESSY)
New infotainment
The Octavia will be available with a new touch-screen infotainment system that responds to swipe gestures. The new sound system, called Canton, works with an acoustically optimised cabin to make the most of your music. The newly developed systems feature touchscreen displays of up to 8-inches in size with proximity sensors fitted as standard on all models. Housing the radio and navigation (standard on Elegance trim), the multi-media system is also capable of communicating with mobile devices via Bluetooth or USB cable.
More efficient and powerful engines
Four advanced engine options will be available: two petrol and two diesels. Power outputs range from 105PS (1.2 TSI, 1.6 TDI CR DPF) to 150PS for the 2.0 TDI CR DPF model. Engineers achieved significant improvements in the Octavia’s fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures thanks to the introduction of new technologies, improved aerodynamics and reduced vehicle weight. All engines are equipped with Stop/start and Energy Recovery as standard.

Škoda Rapid
Introducing the new ŠKODA Rapid
The ŠKODA Rapid is a spacious, elegant and at the same time affordable compact hatch for the whole family and their baggage. As you would expect from a ŠKODA, it has all sorts of handy, simply clever features (such as a phone pocket, a multimedia holder, and even a fuel cap with its own ice scraper) and includes comprehensive safety equipment, making it excellent value for money. Perfect proportions, clear and cleanly modelled surfaces and sharply drawn lines combine to create a great looking car.
The ŠKODA Rapid has all the space required for you to feel comfortable while it maintains the practical dimensions of a compact car (4.48 metres in length and 1.7 metres in width). In addition, a spacious rear tailgate makes it even more functional. Rapid's rear taillights remain in ŠKODA’s typical C Shape but you will notice the new brand design of the front of the car. A headlight ensemble in a cloverleaf shape and a chrome grille bring a new character to the car, and we’ve updated the logo to complete the new look.
The Rapid will come with a range of petrol and diesel engines, so you can choose which one’s right for you and because they’re as efficient as possible, they’re better for the environment too.

Another clever addition is the Portable Infotainment Device; it seamlessly combines navigation, a hands-free Bluetooth system and multimedia entertainment in one. Fitted as standard on the Elegance trim and a great optional extra on S and SE.
The engines and the transmission have been designed to provide optimum economy in the city. The Citigo also places great emphasis on safety. For the first time in a ŠKODA vehicle, the designers have used a Head-Thorax side airbag to protect the heads of both the driver and the front seat passenger.
